When I was writing the first version of this article a couple of years back, it was hard to get the top graphics card (RTX 2070 or RTX 3070) laptops even at 2 lakhs, but now a lot of laptops are available with RTX 4070 at this price range.
Strongly recommend getting a laptop with RTX 4070 graphics card for gaming. It will be a great experience and one worth it.

The processor has 14 cores (remember when the dual-core was a big thing?) 6 of which are performance cores and the remaining 8 are efficient cores. These numbers alone are enough to make the laptop the best gaming laptop under 2 lakh.
But then the graphics card inside this beast of a machine makes this proposition even better. The laptop is powered by an RTX 4070 graphics card. With the Ada Lovelace architecture, the carcanto have around 2x performance and power efficiency.
Compared to RTX 3080, Cyberpunk delivers around 3 times more performance on the RTX 3070. The growth in performance of the graphics processor is phenomenal. The new RTX cards also have DLSS which improves performance with AI.
Design and Build quality
The laptop is rugged and can take a beating or two. The design of the laptop is muscular and looks stunning. The keyboard looks particularly amazing. The keyboard is RGB backlit and you can have a colour of your choice for the keyboard.
The honeycomb design of the grills at the bottom of the laptop helps with cooling. There are vents on the side as well as on the back to help in cooling.
The mystic light software helps in customising the colour of the keyboard. The aesthetics of the laptop is great and looks like you can conquer the world with the laptop.
The CPU and GPU share the same thermal pipe helping MSI increase the size of the pipe and thereby helping in transferring heat optimally during long hours of gaming.
The laptop is built keeping gamers in mind and therefore the display has a high refresh rate.

Okay, so at the time of writing this article, this laptop has not been released. But, better wait and get the best product than rush in and get something which you regret right? Especially when you are planning to spend 2lakhs on getting the best gaming experience.
The laptop offers bang-for-the-buck performance. Starting with the performance of an i9 processor and that too, not any i9 processor, the latest 13th generation Intel Core i9-13900HX processor. The processor lly obliterate any games you dare throw at it. Let's take a moment and talk about the i9 processor alone for a couple of lines.
It has 24 cores (Whaaaaaat????); of which 8 are performance cores and 16 are efficient cores. They have a total thread count of 32. With a maximum turbo frequency of 5.40 GHz, these are the real beasts.
Moving on to the graphics card, the laptop features an RTX 4070 graphics card. The new graphics card is around 20% faster than the outgoing RTX 3070. This means faster rendering. The card also features new DLSS and other technologies to optimise for higher frame rates during gaming.
For RAM, the laptop has 16GB of DDR5 memory which can be upgraded up to 32GB. A 1TB HDD gives enough space to store the games you are playing.
With a 16-inch IPS display panel, the viewing experience is excellent. It has a WQXGA display with a resolution of 2560x1600. With a refresh rate of 240Hz, it is easy to spot your enemies faster than they see you.

I wouldn't believe a laptop this powerful is available at this price. I mean it is really hard to believe it. This is because, back in the days of GTX 10 series and RTX 20 series cards, laptops were not affordable. The top-of-the-line laptops used to be far more expensive than 2 lakhs. But now we can get one for under 2 lakhs.
Processor
Powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 - 5800H graphics card, this laptop has all the power a laptop shall ever require.
In case you are new to AMD and more familiar with Intel, Ryzen 7 is synonymous with Intel Core i7 processors. AMD processors have become so much better over time that currently, big manufacturers such as Intel have started creating laptops with AMD processors in them.
The processor is an octa-core (8 cores) processor with support for multithreading. With a base clock speed of 3.2 GHz and a maximum clock speed of 4.4 GHz, the processor can handle all the tasks required during your long gaming sessions without breaking a sweat.
Again, if you are sceptical about getting an AMD processor, keep in mind that manufacturers like Alienware are making a series of laptops (the Ryzen series) with AMD processors. This is because AMD has made great processors in the last couple of years which is just hard to ignore.
Graphics Card
Now to the party piece in the laptop; the Nvidia RTX 3080 which is the beating heart for gamers. The RTX series need no introduction, so let me tell you a few features that are new in the latest RTX series.
The graphics cards come with a new Artificial Intelligence code that gives you an even higher frame rate than before. This does not sacrifice any of the quality of the images. The new RTX series has been geared more towards 4K gaming and therefore if you have a 4k TV lying around, I'd recommend you plug the laptop into your TV and jump into gaming with a bigger screen.
Storage and Memory
The laptop has 16GB of DDR4 memory to see your game as long as you want. I'd have liked 32GB RAM, but with that graphics card, This is all I need.
For storage, the laptop comes with a 1 TB SSD which is the current standard for most gaming laptops.

The Asus ROG Strix Scar is a 15-inch laptop with a bezel-less display. Asus has been very good at building gaming laptops and this one is a great offering from them. The display has a refresh rate of 300Hz which is the absolute Gold standard for gaming. A response time of just 3ms also will help you keep on top while gaming.

The laptop has RGB lighting for individual keys and has a travel of 1.7mm. This should make your gaming time more enjoyable.
All this and I think this laptop is easily the best gaming laptop under 2 lakh that is currently available in the market. I'd strongly recommend you buy one without any second thoughts.

I loved this laptop for all the right reasons. The Omen series of the laptop was released by HP so that it can create high-end gaming laptops on a budget and this laptop has managed to do just that and it will leave a smile on your face.

Guide to Buying the Best Gaming Laptop under 2 Lakhs
When you're buying such an expensive laptop, research is something you have to do on your own. We can help you so much, but then the rest is up to you. Here are a few tips to help you with it.
- About the processor, get a newer generation i7 or greater processor. Don't go for anything older than the 9th generation. We would prefer a 10th-generation graphics card.
- Get an RTX graphics card. They are worth the price and you'll be happy you bought one of those. We would strongly lean towards RTX 20 series though RTX 1080 is not a bad option either. Always do your research when buying your laptop is what we have to say here.
- RAM doesn't matter much since you can upgrade it any day. RAM is cheap and we recommend 16GB at this price point and that's all that's needed for most of the gaming.
- SSD is a must. HDDs are slow and ely need to equip your laptop with an SSD if that doesn't come pre-installed.
- Display size is a matter of personal preference but go for something with a refresh rate higher than 120Hz. 60Hz is also not terrible, but 120 or higher is the best.
