Best Laptop for Video Editing under 70000

Okay, so we need to get some videos edited, now the question is how to find the best laptop for video editing. And we have a budget of 70k.

Before everything, let's take a look at what we need for video editing. In the processing department, what's most important is the graphics card. The graphics card of a laptop helps render the video while making edits to the video. Processing power is important, but unlike office laptops, the graphics card is the most important component of a video editing laptop.

We suggest you get a laptop with an RTX 3050 laptop on the bare minimum. If you can shell a bit more (say for 80k), you can get an RTX 3060 laptop even. Msi Gf65 costs 80k and is a great value-for-money laptop. Recently RTX 40 series have also been released, but they may be a bit over the budget.

For the processor, we can get an Intel i5 processor at the bare minimum. Care should be taken that this processor is 11th generation or newer. Currently, Intel is a 13th-generation processor.

RAM is another essential thing to be considered while looking at a laptop for video editing. The bare minimum of 8GB is required, but 16GB RAM will see a faster speed for video editing. More RAM means faster storage to keep the video while editing.

Videos are large and you will almost certainly require external hard disks for storing them. An onboard storage of at least 512GB should help you have some videos stored on the laptop and see better processing times. An important thing to keep in mind is that storage should be an SSD as there is a large performance drop for an HDD.

Now that we have a basic understanding of what we are looking for, let's take a look at the best laptops for video editing under 70000

  • Acer Nitro 5

When laptops are mostly trying to scream for attention, this is one laptop that is going in the opposite direction. The laptop is not very funky and looks decent like a business laptop. This is a laptop which you can use in the office as well for gaming. Is this a good thing? That is a decision you've to make.

Powered by a 12th-generation Intel i5 processor (Intel Core i5-12500H), the laptop is powerful enough to render videos without taking much time. The laptop meets the specifications suggested by Digit for a creator laptop. This laptop can be used to create videos, edit images and play those games which you've been craving for.

The laptop has vents on the side and bottom for maximum cooling. Rendering videos for long hours can cause the laptop to heat and unexpectedly shut down, but thanks to the design of the laptop, it can run for long hours without overheating.

The display is good and offers decent colour accuracy. At this price range, this is great and works for most. I would strongly recommend getting a separate monitor for more colour accuracy. The brightness of the display is 300 nits which helps work in large light conditions.

All is not bright and shiny with this laptop, as is the case with most laptops. The audio system in the laptop is average, and the fan makes a really loud noise while used for gaming and video rendering.

Overall, we would say this is a great laptop, as is also evident by the ratings on Amazon.

My college laptop was a Lenovo IdeaPad and the best feature about these laptops is how rugged they are. Carrying them from college to hostel and countless hours of gaming night out and this machine survived four years. Four years is a really long time in college years.

The laptop can withstand vibration, low and high temperature, temperature shock and shock in general. The hinges are sturdy and there is no wobble when moving the laptop.

The design of the laptop is minimalistic and has a white backlit keyboard.

The display is a 15.6" FHD display and has a refresh rate of 120Hz. One of the major drawbacks of the system is it is only 45% NTSC. For video and photo editing 60% NTSC makes the display have better colour accuracy.

The laptop has a battery life of 4-5 hours. This is great for a laptop that has so much processing power. The laptop weighs around 2 kg making it decently portable as well.

The laptop is great for coding and gaming as well.

One of the complaints with this laptop is that the trackpad is located where your palm is resting. Most trackpads ignore your palms, but the palm rejection on this laptop is not particularly great. This means that you might find yourself moving the cursor when you do not want also.

Another drawback is that it comes with a single RAM slot. It has a single 16GB RAM which means while upgrading we cannot use two RAM sticks.

HP is one of the big manufacturers of laptops along with Dell and Lenovo. HP is marketing aggressively and producing laptops that are great and offer great value for money. This laptop is one of the best laptops for video creation. To be honest, this laptop costs a bit over the budget of 70k, but the value offered is just too good that it cannot be ignored.

The processor in the laptop is an AMD Ryzen 7. This is similar to having an Intel i7 processor. I personally prefer AMD over Intel for a couple of reasons. One is that AMD has build such great processors in the last few years that every manufacturer has started building Ryzen models. Alienware has a Ryzen series as well with AMD graphics cards. Secondly the price of the AMD cards are cheaper compared to Intel counterparts.

For some extra money, you can have an i7 processor version of this laptop as well. When most of the laptops in this list feature an i5 processor, this is the only laptop to feature an i7 processor and that too is a 12th-generation i7 processor. Even though most people think that generation difference is not too big, it is really big. In another article, I had to compare RTX 3080 graphics card and the recently released RTX 4070 graphics card, and the 4070 offered almost twice the frame rate for certain games. The value for money is really great for newer processors.

Speaking of graphics cards, the laptop is equipped with an Nvidia RTX 3050 graphics card. The card should see you through most of long nights of creating videos.

The Victus has a 16.1" immersive display which makes it a great experience to edit videos on. The display is micro edge display which means smaller bezel size.

The audio in the laptop is Bang and Olufsen speaker. This means the audio system in the laptop is great. This helps in handling great quality audio during video creation.

The keyboard is backlit and there is enough space between the keys that help in typing and using the laptop.

Overall, a great laptop at a great price. The reviews in Amazon also is a testimony for this laptop.

One of the negative issues with the laptop is that the hinges are a bit wobbly.

The HP Pavilion series has been around for some time and the Pavilion series offer great performance and is great for office use and creating videos.

The laptop has a purple hue which makes it feel all professional. Featuring a Ryzen 5 processor (a hex core processor which supports multthreading) and a powerful RTX 3050 Ti, this laptop makes it a great companion for all your video creation needs.

The laptop is a tad bit more powerful than the rest of the laptops in this list thanks to the RTX 3050Ti graphics card. The Ti cards are slightly more powerful than their non Ti counterparts.

3D Mark tests shows that 3050Ti is around 20% more powerful than the normal Nvidia RTX 3050 graphics card. This helps in lower rendering times for videos.

The keyboard on the laptop is a backlit, full sized keyboard. The keys on the keyboard has decent travel helping you with the right shortcuts while using the laptop with Adobe Premiere Pro and CyberLink PowerDirector 365. The laptop can run these softwares with utmost ease.

The trackpad supports multi touch and is great to use with the laptop.

A tie up with the audio company Bang and Olufsen ensures that all the HP laptops sounds great. This laptop also comes with Bang and Olufsen audio making it sound like a premium studio.

If you haven't heard of Bang and Olufsen, it is the same company that manufactures audio systems in Audi and other luxury cars and have their own speakers, which themselves cost a fortune.

If you're a die hard Dell fan, we got a laptop for you as well. Dell makes some great laptops, but recently they've been concentrating more on the premium line up.

This is a laptop from the G series line up which offers premium laptops with great build quality. The laptop turns heads from the start. The lines and the huge size makes it a real looker.

If you're not a fan of big sized laptops, then stay clear of this laptop. But the size offers some perks including shock protection and better thermals during extensive usage. As mentioned earlier, laptops which has a big graphics card produce a lot of heat during gaming and working. This needs to be dissipated fast to prevent any damage to the laptop.

Bigger laptops usually have larger heat sinks and better ways to manage heat. The fans are also bigger helping and move more air through the vents keeping the laptop cool.

The display on the laptop is excellent, but has slight bleeding. This won't be noticeable during normal use. The laptop comes with game mode which is amazing. It has profiles such as balanced, performance, cool and so on. These boosts the frame rates or keeps the laptop cool as required by you.

The laptop has 6 vents to keep the laptop cool during long usage. The noise of the fans is very low and you won't notice it during normal usage.

The battery life is just around a couple of hours. But as mentioned earlier, most laptops get just that. So that's not something that you should worry about.
