Lenovo is doing great with multiple laptops at the top of the list. The Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 is a serious game changer and offers great value for money. The crown is earned by the laptop due to the 1650 Ti graphics card which is offered by the laptop and is offered by none of the competitors. The Ti badge on the laptop adds additional speed and a better frame rate while playing games.

Let's look into the specs in detail. The laptop is powered by an AMD Ryzen 5 4600H processor. This is an equivalent of an Intel i5 processor with better value for money. The processor is a 6-core processor with each core allowing multithreading, making it 12-threaded. That's similar to having a 12-core processor, except that it is not exactly like that. Threads mean that a single core can handle two tasks at the same time but that's by sharing time between the two tasks.

The processor has a base clock speed of 3GHz and a maximum turbo clock speed of 4.0GHz. This means that the processor will run on 3.0GHz most of the time and when it needs more power, it can do that. But running on turbo boost means more energy is being spent and more heat is spent. This means the processor can run at turbo speeds only for a short interval of time.

The laptop comes with an Nvidia GeForce 1650Ti graphics card. This is a 4GB graphics card and offers better performance than the GTX 1650 graphics card. At this price range, most of the graphics cards are GTX 1650. The performance difference is noticeable in the GTX 1650Ti. For reference in the real world, Far Cry offers a frame rate of 60fps when using GTX 1650 and 63 with the 1650Ti model. Though this doesn't sound like much, the difference can be the difference between if a game is playable on your laptop or not. Most of the games that are released to date are playable on this graphics card without any stutter. Though that's the case, asking the laptop to play games at High or even Medium settings might be a bit too much.

The laptop comes with 8GB of DDR4 RAM. This is enough for most gaming needs. The only reason why you should upgrade your laptop RAM is if you are doing some heavy video editing. RAM sticks are cheap nowadays and you don't have to worry much about the cost of upgrading the RAM.

For more permanent storage, the laptop comes with 512GB of SSD. SSDs are faster than HDDs and help in giving better performance out of your laptop. Having an SSD means that the laptop starts faster and also your games load faster. This means a lower amount of waiting for the game to load and more time playing the game.

The display on the laptop is a 15.6" screen and is full HD; which means the laptop has a resolution of 1920x1080. This gives a great viewing experience while gaming. The laptop has a maximum brightness of 250 nits. It also has an anti-glare screen which helps prevent light from reflecting on the screen while working outdoors or under the light. The display has a refresh rate of 60Hz which gives you a millisecond advantage during gaming.

The battery in the laptop can last for up to 5 hours making it easier to use while travelling. It has a full-size backlit keyboard so you can type in the dark.

Overall this is a great laptop both for office use and for gaming.

Acer Nitro 5

Processor: Intel Core i5-10300H processor
RAM: 8 GB DDR4
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650Ti with 4GB of dedicated GDDR6 VRAM
Storage: 1 TB HDD 7200RPM + 256 GB SSD
Display: 15.6" display with IPS (In-Plane Switching) technology

Buy from Amazon

Powered by an Intel Core i5-10300H processor, this laptop aces our list of best gaming laptops under 70000. One of the major reasons for that is the processor itself. This is a 10th-generation processor and that brings a lot of power to the table.

You can easily do all your daily tasks with this and when you want to game, this machine turns into a beast. The gaming power is because of its GTX 1650Ti graphics card. The graphics card can play all of the latest titles. But even then, asking it to play games in Ultra settings might be a bit too much.

The keyboard on the laptop is backlit so you can use it even in the dark and the WASD keys are highlighted for easier access during gaming sessions.

The battery on the laptop lasts a mighty 10 hours. This is a pretty long time for a gaming laptop.

For memory, the laptop has 8GB of DDR4 memory. This would see you through your long gaming sessions. And to store your games, you get a pairing of a 1TB HDD and a 256GB SSD. We would recommend you store the games in the SSD as there will be a marginal increase in the loading times while gaming.

The display on the laptop is a 15.6" display with IPS technology. The larger screen area will give you a greater immersive experience while gaming.

Overall I am pretty impressed by the capabilities of this laptop and would strongly recommend buying this laptop.

Lenovo Legion Y540

Processor: 9th Generation Core Intel I7-9750H
RAM: 8 GB DDR4
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GTX 1650 4GB
Storage: 512 GB SSD
Display: 15.6-inch screen with (1920X1080)

The best gaming laptop under 70000 is Lenovo Legion Y540, an award given to it owing to its great performance and excellent cooling during long gaming hours. We were also impressed by its screen which offers clarity beyond measure.

Let's start with the looks. The laptop deviates from the usual looks of a gaming laptop by providing a white back-lit keyboard. Usually, all gaming laptops under 70k come with red or RGB, and all those look a bit too immature. This laptop has a more mature look on the outside and all the goodness of a gaming laptop on the inside.

The laptop comes with an Intel i7-9750H processor. The processor is hexacore and packs a ton of power within each core. Each of the cores has a base speed of 2.60 GHz and can go to a mind-blowing 4.50 GHz. This kind of processing power is enough to play any of the games in Ultra settings if paired with the right graphics card.

The processor also packs two threads per core which means that it can give more juice to each processor. Multi-threading is a technology whereby a processor can handle more than one job at a time. This means that even though it has only 6 cores, it can perform like a 12-core processor.

Now let's look at the more important part of a gaming laptop. The graphics card. Lenovo has packed its Legion laptop with an Nvidia GTX 1650 graphics card. The card offers great performance and is great for gaming. It comes with 4GB of video RAM.

This means that the graphics card has packed its RAM for its consumption leaving enough and more space on the RAM separately. This also helps in faster access to data for the graphics card, thereby improving performance.

The laptop has 8GB of DDR4 RAM which we feel is a bit less but can be upgraded, so don't worry. Whenever you feel like the laptop is a bit sluggish or you have a lot of money that you don't know what to spend on, get a better RAM. RAM sticks are pretty cheap nowadays.

And while we are on the topic, the laptop packs 512GB of SSD for more permanent storage which we are more than happy with. The SSD packs great performance offering extremely low boot times and also helping with faster loading of games. This also means that the time you spend waiting for that game to load is lower.

The keyboard is also pretty well laid out, giving enough space between keys to make typing easy. The keyboard features anti-ghosting. Anti-ghosting is the technology by which you can press as many keys as you want on the keyboard and all of them will be registered. This will come in handy when you're pressing all the keys in blind panic while gaming. The white backlighting of the keyboard makes sure that gaming at night is also a breeze.

Overall we loved this laptop for its great performance, but we would recommend you upgrade the RAM to 16GB. The laptop doesn't overheat too much during gaming and would be a perfect gaming laptop. This is the best gaming laptop under 70000 with an i7 processor in India.

PROS

  • Latest 10th generation i7 processor
  • SSD gives excellent performance and boot times
  • Great gaming performance
  • At 2.3kg, lighter than the rest of the laptops

CONS

  • RAM is only 8GB, would prefer 16GB
  • The battery will last only for a couple of hours

Runner up: HP Pavilion bc514TX

Another great laptop from HP. Brilliant performance and brilliant looks. The acid green backlighting of the keyboard and the angled edges are a joy to look at. We would give the HP Pavilion, the best-looking laptop in this price range award. The laptop feels like someone who is extremely mature and knows what he/she is doing.

Featuring the same specs as Lenovo Legion, the HP Pavilion gives the laptop a run for its money. The only thing we found this laptop a bit lacking is its display which is not IPS and therefore the clarity is not crispy enough. We would have chosen this as the best laptop had it had a better display.

The laptop comes with a 9th Generation Intel processor. It features Intel i7-9750H. The processor is hexacore and has a base speed of 2.6GHZ which can be clocked up to 4.50GHz. This is done by a technology called turbo boost in Intel. This technology helps in increasing the speed for a short period.

Most of the processors in a laptop are capable of speeds which are higher than the speeds that they come with. But the problem is, laptops are not equipped to dissipate the heat that fast. So what they do is manufacturers tune down the performance.

The solution Intel came up with, was turbo-boost. This boosts the base speed of the processor to a higher speed for around the 20s (this can be adjusted if you're tech savvy) so that the laptop performs faster for a short period. Then it runs at lower speeds to cool itself down and runs at higher speeds again.

All this makes the laptop perfect for gaming.

Now comes another important part of a gaming laptop. The graphics card.  HP Pavilion features a 4GB Nvidia GTX 1650 graphics card for gaming. The graphics card features award-winning Turing Architecture. The Turing architecture uses adaptive shading technology and a new unified memory architecture to improve the gaming experience.

The graphics card is claimed to be 70% faster than GTX 1050. That is a great gaming performance.

The laptop comes with 8GB of DDR4 RAM for temporary storage, and 512GB SSD for more permanent storage. The laptop is upgradeable and you can upgrade both of them at will.

Though 512GB sounds a bit less, the fact that it is an SSD and not a traditional HDD means a lot. This will improve the performance of your laptop drastically and help you enjoy it.

The laptop offers excellent thermal efficiency and we feel this is an excellent value-for-money purchase making this one of the best gaming laptops under 70000.

PROS

  • Great gaming performance moving to GTX 1650 graphics card
  • Perfect backlighting for the keyboard

CONS

  • Storage is very little, could have had a Hard disk also

ASUS TUF Gaming FX505DT

Processor: AMD Ryzen 7-3750H
RAM: 8 GB DDR4
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 GDDR5 4GB VRAM
Storage: 1TB 5400RPM 2.5' HDD + PCIe NVMe 256GB M.2 SSD
Display: 15.6" (16:9) LED-backlit FHD (1920x1080)

Buy from Amazon

Another laptop with a proud pedigree, the ASUS TUF Gaming FX505DT is no slouch either. It can take on Lenovo Legion and the HP Pavilion any day. Featuring the same graphics card as the other two this laptop too takes gaming to the next level.

A place where the ASUS team decided to go with a different approach was the processor. Instead of going with Intel, they decided AMD Ryzen 7-3750H was a better choice, and while comparing companies, though there is not much difference, when it comes to the respective chips, there are differences.

The Ryzen 7 is a great processor giving the Intel counterpart proper competition. The processor is a quad-core processor which has a base speed of 2.30GHz and a maximum clock speed of 4.0GHz. From the specs itself, you can see that the processor performs extremely well and gives competition to the Intel counterpart.

The laptop is a great looker with excellent features. It also gives excellent frame rates while gaming. You can play all the latest titles on this laptop without breaking a sweat, though you might not be able to do it at Ultra settings, you would easily be able to play it at Medium at the very least.

Cooling is one of the major things that you have to look into while buying a gaming laptop. This is because if the laptop overheats the performance of the laptop will drop resulting in dropped frames. It means that your game will look laggy or it would look kind of stuck.

Asus gives you ample amounts of storage. 256GB SSD for insanely quick boot times and 1TB HDD for all those movies and games which you have stockpiled. On the first boot itself, you will note the performance the SSD gives you. Boot times will be extremely lower than what you're used to while using HDD.

Overall we feel that the ASUS Tuf Gaming is one of the best gaming laptops under 70000, but we don't feel it is powerful enough to topple the top two with its Intel Processors.

PROS

  • Excellent thermals ensure the laptop does not overheat
  • High refresh rates make games extremely smooth
  • RGB lighting can be controlled via software

CONS

  • Average battery life

HP Pavilion 15-dk0047TX

Processor: 9th Generation 2.40GHz Intel Core i5-9300H
RAM: 8 GB DDR4
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GTX 1650 4GB
Storage: 1TB 7200rpm hard drive+ 256 GB SSD
Display: 15.6-inch screen

Buy from Amazon

HP Pavilion is quite the looker. HP has a great number of gaming laptops under the title OMEN and this is not one of those. For some reason, HP decided to go with the Pavilion monicker and we wouldn't complain. HP Pavilion has been there for a long time, and they are one of the best laptops from time immemorial. The question is this laptop managed to live up to the legacy?

The laptop features a 9th-generation Intel i5 processor, which is needless to say less powerful than the i7 processors listed above. Even though that's the case the processor features a base speed of 2.40GHz and has a maximum clock speed of around 4.10GHz. The processor has an 8MB cache for faster data access.

The processor doesn't throttle the performance of the graphics card and is a great buy. For gaming, the most important factor is the graphics card, and when looking at the processor, the only thing you have to keep in mind is that the performance of the graphics card is hampered by the performance of the processor. If not, it doesn't make much sense to buy a great processor.

The graphics card on this laptop is like the top runner an Nvidia GTX 1650 which has 4GB of the video buffer. The graphics processor is extremely powerful and handles all of the latest AAA titles. It gives extremely good frame rates for playing games in Medium settings. Older games can be played at high or even Ultra in some cases.

The graphics card is a huge improvement over the outgoing GTX 1050. Nvidia claims performance of over 70%. That is huge, considering the GTX 1050 was already a great laptop.

All this is enough to push the laptop into the best gaming laptops under 70000 territory.

Overall the laptop, though has a processor with lower power than the top laptops, is still an excellent buy, owing to its pedigree, and has lived up to its Pavilion badge.

PROS

  • Great screen resolution
  • Excellent build quality
  • 144Hz refresh rate ensures smooth gameplay

CONS

  • The hinge is a bit weak, a bit wobbly
  • No RGB keyboard

Asus ROG-Strix G G531GT -BQ024T

One of the most stunning laptops in this price range. Look once and be prepared to get your eyes glued to this. The extra thin bezel-less screen would take anyone's breath away.

One of our colleagues has one of these and swears this is the best gaming laptop in this price range. The laptop offers excellent performance and an extremely premium feel. Asus has not skimped on quality to give value to products.

The laptop has great performance and one of the reasons is the FireCuda drive. But before that, let's talk about the processor.

The laptop features an Intel i3-9300H processor which is a quad-core processor. This is a 9th-generation processor and offers great performance for an i5 processor. The laptop has a base speed of 2.40GHz and a maximum clock speed of 4.10GHz. The laptop has a smart cache of around 8MB which makes the performance even better.

For gaming, this laptop also features a GTX 1650 with 4GB of video memory and it will do its task extremely well. This is one of the latest graphics cards and can play all the latest titles. The processor does not limit the capabilities of this laptop.

The laptop has got great gaming capabilities and an excellent display. What we drooled over most on this laptop was its display. Though we didn't like its processor, the display is a miracle. It feels extremely real and lifelike, and we do not know how Asus has managed to pull such a brilliant display on a laptop. The bezel lessness of the display also managed to amaze us.

The keyboard is individually lit and it looks stunning. You can make different patterns appear on the keyboard such as ripples from the key you last struck and so on. That never gets old.

For storage, this laptop comes with 1TB of HDD for all your storage and a 256GB SSD for all your hyper-fast needs like boot times. SSDs are extremely faster than HDDs and most of the bottlenecks in laptops are due to really slow HDDs.

The HDD drive on this is a FireCuda drive. This is like a hybrid drive which offers great performance similar to an SSD. It improves the speed greatly and you'll notice the difference in speed.

We loved this laptop for its quality and find it a great addition to the best gaming laptops under 70k.

PROS

  • The bezel-less display is a joy to look at
  • Lots of storage space

CONS

  • No webcam
  • Only i5 processor

MSI Gaming GL63 9RCX-220IN

Processor: 9th Generation intel Core i7-9750H
RAM: 8 GB DDR4

Storage: 512GB NVMe M.2 SSD
Display: 15.6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080)

MSI is a company that needs no introduction among gaming fans. MSI is a company based in Taiwan which has been building motherboards and other chips since 1986, but it wasn't until 2008 that it dived into making gaming laptops and desktops.

Most of the laptops in this price range feature the same specs, and MSI is no exception. They too decided that nothing but the best should go in the laptop and equipped it with a 9th generation Intel Core i7 processor. For graphics cards though, they went with GTX 1050.

The processor, as mentioned earlier is an i7-9750H processor which has a base speed of 2.6GHz. The processor can boost the speed up to 4.10GHz if the need arises so that the laptop doesn't lag at any point.

For the Graphics card, MSI has gone through with an Nvidia GeForce 1050Ti. The graphics card, let us be honest is not very powerful and is only the entry-level graphics card from the previous generation. The only reason this made the list is because of the building and the heating capabilities. The laptop doesn't overheat much even under extreme load and the thermals are excellent.

For RAM, like every other laptop in this list of best gaming laptops under 70000, this laptop also features only 8GB of RAM. For more permanent storage the laptop features 512GB of M2 SSD. The SSD is extremely fast and but you can store only two or three games in there considering that todays games are around 100GB easily, and Windows with all other drivers and software will take another 100GB. Speaking of storage, I remember my first desktop which had a crazy 80GB HDD. God knows how we used to manage in those times.

Overall we feel that this laptop is fine for casual gaming and is a good pick considering the brand value.

PROS

  • Latest generation processor
  • Great performance at this price range

CONS

  • the audio could have been better

How to pick the Best Gaming Laptop under 70000

We have provided you with the best gaming laptop in the market currently, but what if tomorrow you find yourself wanting to buy something other than the ones we provided? So here's a guide to making the process of picking the best gaming laptop a breeze.

Processor

Processor and graphics card are the major decisions you have to make in buying a laptop and make sure you don't go wrong on them. This is because, once you buy a laptop, there is no going back.

You can always upgrade your SSD or your RAM, but once you have the processor, you'll have to live with it for the rest of your life.

Go for a 9th generation or above processor

Processors are the brains of a computer. When buying a laptop, if you get the processor right, half your tasks are done. So how do you select a processor?

There are mainly two processor manufacturers. Intel and AMD, with Intel having the upper hand. Intel Core i5 and i7 processors are great for gaming and if you're going with Ryzen, buy Ryzen 5 or Ryzen 7 processors.

Another thing to keep in mind while looking for processors is the generation. Older-generation processors tend to work worse than newer-generation processors. So if you're getting a 9th generation i5 processor, it will perform a lot better than an 8th generation i5 processor.

Graphics Card

Graphics cards handle the graphic requirements of the game. The major graphics card manufacturers are Nvidia and AMD. Nvidia GeForce cards are great at performance but if you're a bit short on money AMD provides great value for the money graphics cards.

Get something above GTX 1650. This is one of the most valuable gaming cards in this price bracket. We would strongly recommend you get one of these. But if you can get a bigger card, say for example a GTX 1660Ti or similar, that would be even greater.

RAM

RAM stores the data temporarily before being accessed by the processor. This is so that the CPU can access the data faster. The speed at which storage systems such as HDD or SSD provide is very slow compared to the CPU. That is why data is first stored in the RAM

With RAM, it is always more the merrier. 8GB works, but if you can get your hands on 16GB of RAM, better. Don't fret too much over RAM, you can upgrade it whenever you want to.

Storage

Always prefer an SSD. It might feel like you get only a little storage when you have an SSD, but believe us, it is worth it. With an SSD the boot times can be reduced by as much as three times. For example, an SSD laptop can boot at around 10s compared to a similarly powered HDD which will boot at only 30s.

Have you noticed that Mac Books always boot faster than Windows (or used to), that's because they always had SSDs in them. SSDs are excellent. If you can, go for a hybrid choice. A smaller SSD, backed by a huge HDD. That always works.

If you want a better deeper understanding of laptops check out our guide.

Conclusion

If we were forced to pick a laptop for ourselves, we will go with our Editor's choice laptop, the Lenovo Legion. It provides great performance, has a great build and has excellent value for money.

But if you are a lover of a specific brand or loved any other laptop we would encourage you to decide on yourself because, after all, at the end of the day, you'll be the one playing with your laptop. That's why we have added a guide to make that process easier for you.

Happy gaming.
